James and Caroline met on a blind date while they were students at the University of Georgia, thanks to some expert matchmaking by their friends. The setup was a casino-themed fraternity date night, an unexpected first meeting, but one filled with laughter, cards, and James cracking jokes from the very beginning! Just a few days later, James asked Caroline out on a proper first date at Trappeze Pub in Athens. The rest, as they say, is history.

Not long after that first date, James and Caroline made it official. That winter break, Caroline joined James on a trip to his hometown on Long Island. It was their first big adventure together, and the first of many family visits, beach walks, and bagel runs that would become part of their story.

When Covid began, a period of long distance started too, James had moved to Tucson, Arizona for an internship, while Caroline stayed in Georgia. They made it work with plenty of FaceTime calls and virtual movie nights. After a few months apart, they reunited for a quick visit, grateful for some real time together!

James returned from Arizona for his senior year, and they were finally reunited in Athens, their home base once again. They soaked up the excitement of UGA games, with masks and virtual classes in the mix.

James graduated from UGA!! Shortly after, he made the move to Atlanta and started his job, ready to dive into this exciting new chapter of 'adult life'

James and Caroline kept the adventure alive, driving back and forth between Atlanta and Athens on weekends to soak up the best of both cities. They celebrated New Year’s at one of their favorite spots on the Beltline, New Realm Brewery, raising a glass to new memories and all the fun still to come.

Caroline graduated!! That summer, she packed her bags and headed to Boston for an internship. James flew up to help her say hello to the city and explore a few spots together! Then, a short spurt of long distance began once again, with lots of texts, calls, and countdowns to the next visit!

Caroline graduated from her Master’s and they wrapped up another year of back-and-forth trips between Athens and Atlanta. Along the way, they squeezed in travel to a few fun cities and made even more memories together. Their relationship kept growing through it all, and now ~finally~ they’re both living and working in Atlanta, in the same city, at the same time. No more long drives (well, unless it’s for fun)!

Their 4th year together was all about being truly present, finally in the same place at the same time. This was the year they made Atlanta feel like home. Whether grabbing an drink at The Nook, catching concerts every other weekend, or hosting UGA game watch parties on their balcony, this period was a truly special time for us.

James popped the question!! From young love to building a life in our twenties, we’ve grown up together, and we couldn’t be more excited to celebrate with the people who’ve been there along the way. We love you!
